Beginners
County Deer Stalking offers a number of safe and structured courses that are aimed at providing assistance to beginners and those new to deer stalking.
Our deer stalker training is 'Accredited' and 'Approved' by the two main land-based awarding bodies; UK Rural Skills and LANTRA and provides deer stalker training that is designed to help candidates progress from novice to accomplished, proficient deer stalker.
All CDS staff are ‘Approved Witnesses’ for Deer Management Qualifications and Approved Verifiers (AV's) for the excellent PDS1 Deer Stalking Certificate, so candidates have the confidence, that the advice they receive is in line with best practice guidelines for deer management.
Our experienced professional stalkers are happy to offer help and advice during our normal stalking sessions; however, for those who want to gain a more solid grounding in the sport, we offer a wide range of accredited 'Proficient Deer Stalker' training courses that are available either infield or online via the huntingacademy an easy to use, convenient, e-learning platform that provides not just access to the excellent 'Proficient Deer Stalking Certificate Level 1 but also a series of masterclasses and courses delivered by leading industry professionals.
Once you have gained experience with us, we can offer you assistance and guidance in applying for your own Firearm Certificate (FAC).
Expert advice and support is provided by one of our Directors Peter Jones, who is himself a retired Police Officer and now a full time professional deer manager. We are also able to offer a first class reference for your local police force and crucially, assistance with 'Land Approval ', something which is a common stumbling block with many Firearms Applications.
